I have an interested person in a inexpensive new or used machine. The use will be for checking mail, surfing, using AOL and Yahoo chat and typing, resume making. and playing some low impact games like the windows default ones and other card and board games.
She has cable right now and is running a DX4/100-32MB 1.5 gig-98 upgrade box. she only has $500.00 max to spend.

I have the following system in the closet ready to go except for OS installation. All of it is new parts except for the cpu and cd drive and Fdd and monitor. I think it's worth $300.00

Aopen AX6BC Slot 1
Pentium II 350
128 MB PC100 Crucial
6.4 gig ATA/66-5400 RPM Western Digital Hdd
TNT-M64 32 MB vid card AGP 2x/4x
Crystal 3D sound {SB compatitbale clone]
Fdd
8x cd drive
Geeks value case
Gateway 2000 14 inch color monitor
keyboard and two button mouse

The choices of OS would be 98 OEM or M.E. Full.
90 day tech support from me.
Geeks warranty on parts

Edit: this box was built right after Thanksgiven of 2002 so it's going on 6 months old. I've had it online to check it out back then.

So it should be a mover at $250.00. I don't need to make a killing on it, just want enough to repay me for parts and a little extra.

with the monitor included id say $300 is fair.

I agree $300 is fair for all of that.
I wouldnt sell for less especially when your going to do 90day support and the OS.

i dunno..its only 14" monitor. I sold a duron 850mhz, 196MB ram, 10gb drive, 52x cdrom, floppy, 8mb video card, sound card, network card for $250.
when i am trying to sell a system, I usually go here:
http://www.compgeeks.com/products.asp?cat=SYS
and see what compgeeks have that is comparable and price mine down from theirs.

check that out. add a harddrive ($30), memory ($10-30) and kb/mouse/etc ($20+) and you have a sweet little box. Anyone need rc5 crunchers?
