Im on cable (chello in the netherlands) and like every 5 minutes i d/c for about 30 secs, and when it works its as fast as always.
Is the purely on their side, or could it also be on our side?

What brand and model of Cable modem are you using? Is there a firmware update avaliable for your modem?

I have no idea which it is, it is also not in my room but in my brother's room, and he is asleep (i had a headache today so i already slept earlier)
And it is a standard cable modem.
Anyway its really annoying because i cant play any online games, which i do all the time.

Don't know if this true or not. But the guy who installed my brother-in-laws cable told him he should re-boot the modem once a week.
I've got DSL and mine is on 24/7 with no problems at all. Don't know if there's a difference in the modems or the cableguy was blowing smoke.
Anyone ever heard of that?

My DSL router has gone half a year before without a single reboot before and would have gone longer if I hadnt had to reboot it after a cbos (firmware/os) upgrade.

When my brother comes home i will tell him the ideas.
