Last night, I had to shut down one of my antique BP-6s, actually, the only one that I'm still using, when it started making fan noise.
Then, I was in the process of migrating data to an XP2400 that I'm gearing up to make my primary machine and I guess some system garbage got transferred because the screen shut down hung the machine, for hours :mecry:.
Sigh, every time I have to redo a machine, I think such wonderful thought about B. G.

Cwizard it could be worse.
i had to reinstall windows several times this week and now the client isnt recognising any dumps that i have sent. That is why for the past week and a half I have contributed anything.
The last reinstall was friday and I have left the puter running 24/7 over the weekend and so will dump tomorrow. But if this doesnt show i will be seiously pissed as that is alot of crunching wasted again.
And i hate being at the bottom of the team pile :)

Keith:
I know how you feel. It is super annoying for things, that should work in a straightforward way, not to.
Windows has to be the sloppiest system in existence. I've been doing microcomputer stuff for 20 years. M$ products use to be a bad joke with their mediocrity. Now, the jokes on us.
Just a suggestion, you might want to delete the microsoft network and tcp/ip and reinstall it. M$ networking gets messed up really easy and the only way to fix it is to delete it and put it back to reset the tcp/ip tables. That will probably solve your problem. Delete tcp/ip first and then delete client for M$ networks. Tell it yes you really want to do this. Restart machine and put it back. I can't count how many times I've had to do that over the years.
