Greetings... Assisting someone in Purchasing Items to build a Dual AMD Machine using XP's modded to MP's and wanted to confirm/ask some questions.

Here's the confirmation questions:

1) Can the XP to MP mod be done on either the Palomino (.18 Core) or Thoroughbred (.13 Core) . My assumption based on what I have read is that there shouldnt be a difference, but we wanted to confirm it before purchasing the chips.

2) Is there a base Megahurtz limit for this Mod? When looking at some of the XP's, like a XP1700 or XP1800 , the L5 Bridge looked like it was located in two different places (accoding to pics). Just wanted to confirm that this Mod will work on all XP Chips. If it doesnt- what is the Range?

3) It is also my understanding that XP/MP Chips dont need to be mated/matched like Pentiums do in Dual setups... this is correct, right?

Thanks for the Info!

well, from personal experience,
1) I have only done the mod on the Palomino core..retail XP2000's and a pair of retail 2100's

2) Not that I am aware of..in fact the Morgan core Duron should post without mods, and the older XP's need no mods

3) No need

a fourth thing..I posted in the multi-processor forum about the need to remove the protective film over the bridge to make the mod work..take a look
:)
