Just fyi, I will have a drop in output as UP&L (power company) raised their rates and I opened my bill this morning  Needless to say with my costs of running and maintaining this site and then to add in the power costs to run all the other machines I had going that were doing only rc5 90% of the time lately (havent had much free time to do dev testing or such) I just cant afford it. It is still installed on all the machines so when I do have a true need for them to be on they will be crunching but when not needed they will be powered down.

Someday when XPC starts at least covering it's own costs I can justify running other systems just for DC but not right now :(

Still cracking 24/7

P4-1.5gig Main surfing machine
MP1800+ Dually (Databases)
P3-850 Dually (Webhead)

at times
p3-800 (son's machine but when its on he is usually gaming mm2,NFS ect)
p3-1gig (daughters machine same as above (sims))
MP2000+ dually video editing box
P3-1gig dually Dev box webhead
p3 1.4gig dually Soon to replace 850 webhead

Looks like you will end up passing me cwiz

I guess we need to help you find a good way to make some more money for the site :)

Don't know Snowman, I'm probably going to cut back too as the local extortion racke...., er utility raised their rates 10% too and the bills have become more outrageous than they have been.

With the moderate weather goes, I'm going to have to shut down the less efficient systems. :(

I hear ya Cwiz! It just has gotten to costly for me....I've even started to layout how I am going to condense my clients websites on to more efficient servers to cut back on costs.

I'm not very suprised you're going to be cutting down, Mike. And I think the idea of condensing your systems is a good one. Although it may be costly to build the new system, in the long run, you will come out ahead. Sheesh, I don't have a single system running 24/7. All my systems at home stay on less than5 hours a day! :D As far as cracking goes, my dual MP1800+ completes 4 times faster than the P4 1.4Ghz with 512MB of RDRAM. Now I have replaced the P4 with the Dual MP2000+ and man does this thing crack! :)

Just off curiosity, at what rate are your systems cracking? Here's how mine looks...

MP2000+ X 2 = 10,3xx,xxx keys/sec
MP1800+ X 2 = 9,2xx,xxx keys/sec
P4 1.4Ghz = 2,1xx,xxx keys/sec

Unless of course this is just the type of situation (someone getting close) that you will feel the need to power up the cows! :p :D :D

And now that I think about it I must speak up!

Mike, you are just too dang soft on your family! They've had it too good for too many years! Isn't it about time chell worked 2 jobs?? And good grief your son has probably never had a job, now has he? You're too easy on your family!

Crack the whip! :p :p :D :D ;)
