View Full Version : Buffalo Imaging - Tyan S2466N-4M
Just completed building this new system after running down to Fry's last night for some last minute needed parts. This was a bit of a budget system since it won't be used for anything more than graphics and running dye sub printers at the show... Other than the CPU, M/B, RAM, and HDD, all other parts were generic... As for the BIOS, it will stay at 4.03 since anything above seems to detect the non-MP processors and will boot with just one processor! :(
Spec
CPU: Dual XP1800+ (Modded to MP)
Heatsink: 2 x Vocano 7
M/B: Tyan S2466N-4M
RAM: Kingston CL2 DDR2100 (512MB x 2)
HDD: Western Digital 80GB 7,200rpm 8mb cache
CDRW: LG 12x8x32
Audio: Generic SB Compatible
Video: GF TI-200
6-in-1 Memory Card Reader

Nice! :D
Thank you! :)
Yeah, I just picked up a $10 soundcard and installed just the necessary parts to have the system running without losing raw power. I also decided to go with an IDE setup for this system which tends to run graphic apps slower, but saved myself a good $500~$600 or so which would've been the cost for U160 adapter and SCSI 80GB hard disk. :)

Is this the box you will be taking to Vegas?
Yes, it is... We'll also be taking a P4 1.8Ghz to run chromakey and sub-dye printer softwares as well as the dye sub printers...
Mitsubishi CP8000DW ($2,995) (http://www.imagingspectrum.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/mitsubishi_cp8000dw_photo_printer.html?E+scstore)
Mitsubishi CP3020DE ($1,395 (http://www.mitsubishi-evs.de/de/pdf/CP3020DE.pdf)
Hiti 630PS ($250.00) (http://www.megapixel.net/cgi-bin/fs_loader.pl?p=http%3A//www.megapixel.net/html/articles/article-630ps.html)

cool
Yeah, these dye-sub printers are quite amazing! It's a totally dry based process where it looks and feels like a real photo you would get out of film processor machines. I would love to have the Mitsubishi 3020 8x10 to 8x12 printer!
