View Full Version : RC5-72 Trouble
I downloaded the software from your link in the thread above and installed the program. I entered my email and have been crunching away for 2days flushing regularly, but I still dont have a stats page or anything that tells me im doing anything.
Should I scrap what I have done and try using the zipped download or is there anything else you can recommend.

Do a search for dnetc.ini on your computer, open it up in notepad, and change it to look like this (make sure to put your email addy up at the top)...
[parameters]
id=you@youremail.com
[misc]
project-priority=RC5-72,OGR=0
[triggers]
restart-on-config-file-change=yes
pause-on-no-mains-power=no
[display]
progress-indicator=auto-sense
[rc5-72]
fetch-workunit-threshold=0
[networking]
nofallback=false
autofindkeyserver=no
keyserver=www.xtremepccentral.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that, make sure you follow the instructions in
this (http://www.xtremepccentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3293) thread to join the Xtreme PC Central team. After that, you should start showing up on the team stats page in about 24 hours.

Have you restarted the client since changing your dnetc.ini file?
What I have done is:
i entered that text into the dtnec.ini file, adjusting as required
i crunched some more no.s and them update fetched and flushed
i did this as i didnt want to lose what i have already crunched
but as you have seen i am still not getting any stats.
i am going home this weekend so ill be away from the computer. what i am going to do is uninstall what i have, download the zip file and then start again and leave it over the weekend.
hopefully that should do it and ill be joining you all soon.

Hi:
If you are flushing and fetching, that part is working.
You have to join the team through Dnet. Go to Dnet, look up your stats by your e-mail address and at the bottom, click send password.
When the password arrives, you can then join the team. Go team search box on the Dnet main stats page, type in team xtreme and search. It will bring the team page up. On that page is the option to join the team. Put in your e-mail and password Dnet sent you and you're joined. It takes a stats run, which occurs once a day around 6pm CST before you show up.
If you want to see your stats throughout the day, direct the flush/fetch to the team proxy. It's not necessary but it is nice to see the stats updated more than once in 24 hours. :D

What email address are you using Keith?
The email that i am using is keithgoddard@hotmail.com. My standard email for everything.
The flushing and fetching seems to be fine. In fact the program seems to be running fine. The problem is that I dont seem to be getting anything onto the net. I have no stats page and no record of having done anything.
any suggestions.

Yeah I'm not showing any connections from your IP to the proxy server :(
well I am now into day 5 of crunching and should have had a stats page 4 days ago and still nothing.
I am totally at a loss as to what I should do. Am I an idiot, have I overlooked something completely obvious as everyone else seems to be having little trouble.
I have reinstalled the client and made sure that it is set up with the correct email settings. I have sent more crunches.

It took me two days just to FIND my dnetc.ini file! Then once I found it, i discovered that I had totally messed it up. Along with the original download, I managed to duplicate everything and had the proxy info entered 4 times! So, don't feel alone, others had some problems too.
Good luck, and welcome!
This is what is in that file taken directly from Ribs initial post:

Thats what it should be....
Hmmmm are you blocking port 2064? (2064 is the port used to connect to the proxy server)

I am on a dialup and have no firewall or anything that would block connections (i update and flush everytime I connect). I use Norton 2002 antivirus if that could be responsible.
This is begining to get annoying :)

When you go to update, it should show where you are connecting. e.g. connecting to ............
Where is it telling you are connecting?
Cwizard
Ill check that tomorrow when Im back with my computer.

Keith:
You just showed up on the proxy today so you won't show up on Dnet until later this evening after the stats run finishes. But you can see your output here:
http://www.xtremepccentral.com/rc5stats/index.php?section=RC572&page=bymember
The stats run starts about 6pm CST and finishes in a couple of hours.
Cwizard
I see now :)
