I wish Dnet would modify the client so that when a glitch occurs that locks either the in or out buffer, It would simply create another one.
Last night, one of my stations locked the output buffer so all night, I was crunching and the results were getting trashed  I figure about 300-400 blocks were crunched and discarded.
These buffer locks can happen at any time. You can manually unlock them but you have to know it's happened first.

It will tell you unable to open buff-in, loading random if buff-in is locked and unable to open buff-out, discarding :mecry: block.

I run mine on auto as well. I just have all the machines working off 1 input/output buffer. I do that to cut down on output traffic.
The problem was one of the stations was not set for tcp/ip and it happened to be the lucky machine to find the input buffer empty and tried to refill it. But that's corrected now.

Yep, it was a bummer :mecry: . I wish Dnet would modify the client to start another buffer if it stays locked.
About the only time it happens is when you are running more than one machine off the same buffer set. If one of the machines malfunctions, you get a lock. It is easy to unlock it, once you find it  !
But you lose the output if it's the buff-out that locks. Or end up doing randoms, which doesn't matter this early in the project as most will count, but later on will be a problem.
I split off a machine last night so that a secondary machine that does not run all the time can do some munching when it is online. I also have another machine that runs all the time and when I get my test server repaired, I'll make dual boot and it will be munching as well.
I'm disappointed that Dnet hasn't gotten clients for DOS and Novell. That would add a couple of machines for me as well.
