Well I just lost my uptime on one of my SME linux servers... I needed to rob the scsi raid controller from that box for another project and thus the need to power down the box.
Since I knew that I would lose the uptime and I was pretty happy with it... I took a screenshot of the uptime before doing so. :( lol

Anyways what the longest current uptime on any of the boxes under your personal control?

BTW this is gleaned from my system running a simple php script called "phpsysinfo" and can be downloaded from http://phpsysinfo.sourceforge.net/ it works with *nix and MacOS X

It also will list other info such as:
Uptime
CPU
Memory
PCI devices
SCSI devices
IDE devices
Network adapters
Disk usage
and more

Impressive! Sorry to Hear ya lost it.

My longest current UpTime is on one of my ClosetBoxes- literally one of my Machines that I keep in the closet :). I have not rebooted or shut it down for almost 2 months. It mainly acts as Storage (HDD JukeBox with some older smaller drives- 4 to 13.6g) for my Music, BackUps, FTP shares... etc. It also crunches UD. I dont think I have ever made it past 3 months on any of my machines.

I seem to break things before that 3mo Mark :).

LOL Mortis...Thats how I usually am too :D This box had been living it's life as a linux dev box for me that I had used to work on such projects as the migration of XPC to the current portal version we now use and code work. but it has grown tired (just a p3 600) and I decided to rob some of it's parts for a newer faster one :) besides I have someone who wants to buy the 600 system anyways :) and they don't do scsi and I wouldnt have given up my scsi raid cards anyways ;)

Yep, that is about the same for me as well. I think my .net box get's the least reboots because there are less updates for it It's been up for about 2 Months now. If Microsoft could get past the reboot every time you install a patch I would be good to go!

the updates is where all my reboot time comes from. it looks like the updates come fast and furious.

I've never gotten over six months uptime out of any of my boxes. With the Linux boxes I'm always swapping parts and with the Sun boxes I do kernel patches roughly every six months for security reasons. My last update on an Ultra 2 shows it was done 39 days ago. None of my Linux boxes has been up more than 22 days now.

Of course, all of my boxes operate at 100% CPU load all the time :)
