with the current members cracking but it sure would be nice to see more people helping out

dialup or constant connection this is one that works well with either and you will never see even the slightest drain or slowdown running the client. One of if not the best and by far the most stable client out there for
DC projects

Well, I will be moving this coming weekend, but after I get settled into the new place, and get my broadband installed, i plan on downloading, and installing it.That will add a couple of more units to the stats for the group.

 Arghhhh This thing is getting me mad.I shut down every program on my box, and run it from 6:00 a.m. till at least 6:00 p.m., and all I get is 6 packets completed!!!

what speed Proc Dan?

Hummm, what sort of cpu are you using?

Also, any other background processes will slow down the cow because it is very considerate.

Just to give you an idea of what you should be getting, my 1.2 celeron cranks a block approximately every 32 mins. Of course, if I do anything else with the machine, such as play my online game, it drops way down.

The AMD processors are much faster than Intel. My Duron 1.2 cranks a block approximately every 20 mins. A significant amount faster than the Intel.

Guys, it's a k6-2 500. I shut down everything, my anti-virus, firewall, my sound blaster program, everything before I fire it up.after it's fired up, I turn my monitor off so that doesn't affect it either.Any ideas???

Hummmm. I haven't tried to run a socket 7 on this project because the blocks are so big.

I've got a 233 around here somewhere and I can hook it up temporarily to get a baseline for you.

However, it's likely that the socket 7 is doing the best that it can given the size of the blocks.

Back in the dark ages of RC5-64, Dnet made the blocks significantly smaller to accomodate the slower processors of the time. Now they maxed the block size since processors are so much more powerful so that it cuts down on traffic to their servers.

It's working too because under RC5-64, I'd be putting out 20-25K per day with what I'm running now. Instead, it's more like 700-800 per day. This is with like 35-40 MKs online. (SIGH) I remember how impressive it was when I only had 15MKs online.

It shows me I'm doing a little over 600,000 keys a second. Those must be some awful big packets!!!

Yep they are apparently GIANT SIZE :mean: blocks.

600Ks sounds about right for that particular chip.

Something else I've noticed is that the client is geared towards the Athlon. When I start the client, it pops up immediately with the Athlon type and core it's going to use but my few Intel machines, it has to run a benchmark. I can't solve this by changing the ini file because I have a mixture of machines running off the same buffer.

But, they run for a long time once started anyway.

Yep they are very large blocks! Glad to have ya aboard Dan!

I agree with Cwiz...Once you start RC5 clients they just run and run and run
