My friend just put together a new rig with a 2700/333 ( the newest core at that ) on the Asus A7N8X (http://usa.asus.com/mb/socketa/a7n8x/overview.htm).

Here is the list of goodies:
Cooler master watercooled case
GeForce 4-4600
2x DDR PC3500 512 MB
nforce 2 chipset.

Memory bandwidth is right at 6GB/sec!! ( because memory is just a little below 400 MHz speed right now.)

The CPU is overclocking to 2.45 GHz with no voltage added...it totally rocks.

The default settings 3dmark2001se score is 14600+ with the vid card not even tweaked.

We ran the Doom3 e3 preview...smooth as silk at high res. Q3 demos at 240 FPS at 1600x1200 all maxxed out.

To say it smokes my P4 2.7 sounds just about right. :(
Maybe I have to upgrade now. :)

Wow, that is nice. But I still can't help feeling good about the OC I managed...

My board is the Epox 8RDA.. which is of course also an nForce2 board... anyway, I've got my 1700+ running at 2.3GHz, totally air-cooled... idle temps are under 39C. :p

Thanks. I'll probably be investing more time here, for a little variety. :)

Just look what you did - now you have to put up with me! :p

I have your setup except I have a ATI 9500 128MB Radeon Pro

Would you mind telling me all of the setting you changed in your bios? I have had limited success overclocking so far.
