Can someone tell me where the best place is to go, for info on overclocking a K7S5A motherboard with amd 2000+. I was just wanting to see how fast I can get it to run, with stock cooling before it shut down. I really don't care if it goes up in smoke, because i just got done putting a 2800+ together.
Useally when I get a new system I try to get my old one running as fast as it can before going upin smoke. Anyone have any ideas on where I need to go for info on doing so, and do I need to flash bios in doing it. Thank you.

Why make it go up in smoke, when it can still be useful for something?
A little moderate overclocking can be fun, and good, but please, go easy on the poor thing!

Most likely, since he's had almost 2 months to try. :p

If he did then that is a real waste of a good chip and mobo.
Shame if he wanted he could have given it to me and I could have described a really good explsion for him to sate he destructive tendancies.

you can try here, it might help you.
I think that the only way to overclock the 2000 is by increasing your FSB which can be done via your bios, but I cant exactly remember where.

On that board..you need to flash to an overclock third party bios.
there is a forum dedicated to it
Here (http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/index.php?fn=browse_forum&d=7636)
and some of the available bios's are
Here (http://www.lejabeach.com/ECS/ez.html)
and as usual..mileage may vary..poster is not responsible for frying your mobo..yada yada

I overclocked my 2000+ to 1799.72MHz, that was the fastest while it was stable, but I was using a different motherboard and generic ram.
