Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out something about the new GF4 Ti-4800 video card, I remember a while back before it came out when it was still just a rumor that it was gonna be the 8xAGP version of the 4200, but I may be wrong, someone at another forum says its a 4600, Yeah I know the 4200,4400,& 4600 are all the same just different core & memory Clock speeds, but which chip core is it based on (the 4800)?

nVidia doesn't have squat about it on their site anywhere, but there are sites selling this model, also any reviews that are out there don't really say a damn thing.

They are all based on the 4600 chip, even the 4200. The 4800 is the AGP 8x version of the 4200 as I remember...but I could be wrong.

Thats what I thought, but this other guy said I was wrong about that.

The 4800 is a marketing joke for nVidia insiders. It performs worse than the 4600 in nearly all situations due to lower clock and memory rates. Then again, it has 8x AGP, assuming anyone has a need for such bandwidth; certainly not for most games!

BTW, the 4800 SE is a GF-4 Ti4400 with 8x support. More info:
