Most likely you have a hardware problem:

1. Bad integrated switch (or port) in the router.

2. Bad patch cable.

3. Bad NIC. (Or possibly a NIC driver issue.)

let me guess, your a so called expert with Internet & networking right?

if so, maybe list the other dozen or more reasons why internet might be slow (instead of just posting questions & Queries for the thread titles & offering suggestions in the posts). Like it could be spyware/malware, the ISP's service could be bottlenecked or throttled down, Something wrong with the Modem (components going bad, hardware of modem not meeting the ISP's requirements for use on their network, Rootkit embedded in Firmware of Modem or Router, etc), excess services running in windows bogging down internet access for user, etc etc etc...

also define your thread title: Why does my internet slowdown when i use a cable?

A cable? if so, what? Coaxial cable to cable modem, dial up connection using phone line cable, ethernet cable coming from a Cable/DSL modem to PC or Router, USB cable coming from same source, what?

Using Cable (as in Cable/Broadband Internet), then state that...

but to say "...when i use a cable?" is pretty vague & can cover many many situations.
