I picked up two lexmark Z-65 color printers for the wife & I. I have a problem with them. I followed the info supplied by or on the doc's and cd-rom on installing them.

I have let the o/s find them on start-up and have also installed them manualy. same thing happens either way??

the problem is that my system will hang at start-up. dead hang that is. and I have to do a crt-alt-del and kill a process named lexpps. to get the systems to boot past the starting of the system boot up.

update, first my apologies for breacking my first rule of posting. not listing needed info.

this is a system that is used for graphics. o/s upgrade is not a OPTION for all my video equip won't support drivers for the new ones.

mobo abit bx6 rev 2.0 bios flashed
p3-450 cpu
256 ram
250 watt p/s

usb is 1.1 ver and not upgradeable/ even tho the printed & my usb readers are backward compataible.

this only happens after I use my printer and reboot.
lexpps is the problem. killing it brings up a msgsrv 32 not responding. killing the msgsrv will than bring up the kill screen for the lexpps. killing it and all works ok.

I have also killed anything that loads up at start-up, taken out my firewall ect.

I'm lost on this one

Does the system put a little icon of your printer in the systray after everything is loaded? If so try disabling it and see if that helps.
