my parents bought my canon s10 from me...so i need a new one. i liked the size of the s10. but it was slow taking a picture, and the zoom sucked. so i want something that has a faster response like a 35mm and has a decent zoom. something thats not bulky either. i like to take it with me on trips. less than $700 is preferred.

im thinking nikon, canon, or olympus.

thanks for the help!!:)

I have a Olympus C-2100 UZ (Ultra Zoom) that I just love. It's probably more bulky than what you are looking for but Olympus does offer camera's with comproble zoom ability in much smaller size and even higher mega-pixel ratings.

The quality of the Olympus makes me recommend them :)

If you check my personal website's gallery (http://www.digitalmntsnow.com) in the 4th gallery you will see the power of the C-2100's zoom

I subcr. to studio photography & design magazine and Mike, is right on his choice of them. here is some more info & pic's on
http://olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_africabts.asp.

what I did when bought my two. I have a kodak 500.+ setup & a agfa 150.+ setup. I use one for everyday and one for pic's that have to be of a high quality. I went to every site on the web and did a search for digital "all make & types" and than read the good/bad reviews and also viewed the pis from their use stand point ect.

you should first make a list of what your needs/uses are going to be. I'll search my bookmarks and post some of the links I used to make my choice.

I also last month just droped over 600.+ for a digcamcorder. and I used the same way to make my choice for it. I Don't care about a name or price. I just want it to suit my needs and do the job I want it too!!
