View Full Version : 3D Card Graphic Glitches?

I recently got a GF2 GTS PRO 64MB AGP card.

When loading up Max Payne, I see the win2k START button and a couple of the icons in my system tray flickering. They're usually visible during the loadup to the menu, and they're less noticeable during gameplay.

Another issue I have is, during gameplay, when I pan around to look at the room, I can only move a short distance, then the graphics studder/pause for a split second, before the pan continues. So the pan isn't 100% smooth. And this is true when there's nothing happening in the scene. I could be standing there in an empty room, I love the cursor L/R/U/D to look around, and there are multiple studders. Is there a buffer or something I can set? Obviously I've shut down all the non-essential background apps.

TIA!

System
Win2k Pro
Celeron 850MHz
512MB RAM

1. What mainboard are you using?

2. What driver are you running for the video card?

3. What version of DirectX is installed?

4. Is your video card overclocked?

Drivers: Detonator 21.83
DirectX: v8.0
Not overclocked.

Thanks.

The latest Max Payne patch should address the Start button and icons flickering but I don't know if it'll do anything about the stuttering.

You can get the patch from www.3drealms.com/downloads.html

You might also find some help here (http://www.maxpayne.com/support/index.html)

Good luck
