same as Mntsnow, but more specifically I run a couple of their Laser Gaming Mice (G5 & G7), also use a plain Optical model (MX510).

Mine is not that actual brand, and has a flat round mouse pad, but the principle is the same.

LOL Mick, thats my other main PC forum I post at too... also where if people register, in the forums they can see my nifty Animated Stick Figure Avatar  LOL, You know which one I'm talking about :D asked LowLight, the owner of the site (as well as one who wrote that review :) ) if it was ok, he said he doesn't have a problem with it (rules & what not are a little looser over there to say the least, drop an F-bomb every so often & no big deal, but their are rules still, its more akin to TIMO these days, but with a much more sarcastic cocky Smart arse bunch usually, if anyone goes to their forums, look up the Snake Award Threads you'll see what I'm talking about  ) :P

Neat mouse, what I'd like to see is one with some kind of pad that stick to the underside of one's desk so you can choose your own mousepad (bigger) or w/e.

I haven't used a mouse in 16 years. At least not on my machines.
At home & work I use the Kensington Expert Mouse trackball. They were always opto-mechanical but the newest ones are laser, and very sweet.
I have worn out the button switches on a few, but I've never worn out the ball/roller/optical parts.

For years I used the MS wireless intellimouse explorer 2.0 until it started giving me fits (great mouse) but then I plunked down $80 plus tax for the Logitech MX Revolution - impressive to say the least. After this, I doubt I will be going back. With the G15 keyboard, its a great combo.

Still using a MX1000 from 2004, bought it when it was priced over $100... Its showing some wear might need to upgrade soon...
Any suggestions?? Main use would be gaming (COD4, CSS, TF2, WoW).
Would like a new keyboard as well.
