I'm finally getting together the parts for my new system, and need to know if I'll run into any problems down the road here, Ive already decided I'm getting and AMD Athlon XP 2100+ CPU, an Antec 1080AMG Full Server Tower case with a 430wat Power Supply, & decided to go with a newer Aopen KT333 mobo, http://english.aopen.com.tw/products/mb/AK77-333.htm, I'm getting all this stuff from the local Computer Renaissance, because besides the factory warranty's I can also get a full 1 year free parts & labor warranty if they install the parts, & i'm getting all this for just over $400, also I forget which site it was but I can get a 512MB OCZ DDR433 stick for around $160, then I'll just migrate my current GF4ti4200 & SBlive (either that or I'll buy an OEM Audigy with Firewire on it) plus my 6x DVD ( I bought a used 2x DVD for $15 for the old system) into the new case & buy WinXP Home Upgrade (using my previous WinME disk)& install it on my new WD 80gig ATA-133 drive, plus install my old WD 40gig ATA-100 drive in there too.

What I need to know is if anyone has heard any good or bad stuff about this board so that I'll know if I'm gonna run into any problems within the next year, as I'll probably upgrade again in about a year or so anyways.

Thanks for any thoughts you can provide!!!!!

Right now it looks like you should be fine. good size powersupply, Good case, (personally havent used the Aopen Mobo) but the one thing I would suggest is getting XP PRO instead of Home.... Much more compatable with networks and such.

What do ya mean? Ive been looking at getting XP Pro for a while, but was thinking of getting Home instead, cause Pro has a ton of stuff I'd never use, the main advantage Ive heard about Pro is multi-CPU support, but I don't plan on getting one of those for a while. When you mean support for networks, do you mean like hooking up to a broadband modem (Cable), or networking a bunch of systems together, cause if its the later, Im just gonna get a hub & hook up the other system through that, so basicly both computers aren't really connected together, just to the same modem.

Thanks for the advice, I'll look more into XP Pro this weekend as Ive still got a few more days till my parts get here.

I wold definetly consider Pro vs. Home version. You will find that configuring certain things such as Policies and Setting Security and User Accounts are at your finger tip while XP doesn't.
