View Full Version : Getting a Cisco 678 modem and a Dell Truemobile 1184 Modem to work together.
Hey - I don't know if this is possible. I'm working on a friends network and am not figuring it out on my own.
They have a Cisco 678 modem. I have upgraded the CBOS. They also have a Dell TrueMobile 1184 Wireless router. I can't seem to get the configuration right to allow them to have wireless. Please help if you can.
Thanks in advance...

Welcome to XPC, mouse! :)
Looking Here (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/network/R48972/en/index.htm), the router configuration seems easy enough, what issues are you having?

Simply put, following those instructions, it doesn't work (or my brain doesn't). The lan registers as connected and so does the wireless, but I can't get on the internet. I can get the dsl modem (Cisco 678) to work by itself, but I can't get the wireless modem to jump in there.
They had it working with cords running down the middle of the hallway and the wireless modem in the middle of it all. They asked it to be moved so the wires weren't so conspicuous and now I can't get both of them to work.
For what its worth, I think it would be a whole lot easier to just buy a dsl modem with wireless instead of having a dsl modem and a wireless router.
Anybody seeing where my blind spot is? :worry:
