Not sure if anyone else has noticed this or not, but I can't seem to use the quick post thingy;

When I click the 'Post quick reply' botton, it says something like posting quick reply with the little graphic thingy spinning around, but just sits there. I left it sitting there yesterday for an hour and it still hadn't posted it - Hardly quick :D

I'm using Firefox, but also had the same with IE :dontknow:

Having said that, just done one with one sentence and it worked pretty quick, it seems like the forum is thinking and or reading through the text before it posts it, so the more text there is, the longer it takes. The post yesterday that I gave up on was the Rosetta stats post which has a lot of VBB code etc, so perhaps thats it???...

Which theme are you using? I use the legacy theme and have not seen any issues nor did I with emerge

Hey Mntsnow :salute:

I use the 'PremiumUser' default theme.

I have done a bit of experimentation with it, and it does seem that longer messages and or messages that contain vbb code seem to take a very long time to post whereas a simple sentence or two (much like this one) will post straight away...

I'll try it again tomorrow when I post the Rosetta stats with the code and without...

yeah, Ive been getting that kind of result for some time now, though in my longer posts, its possible its the web browser, being its sitting there so long, basically inactive for a half hour or more, while I'm typing... so when I hit the reply button its like it either doesnt know what to do, or just sits there... so while its sitting there, just in case it messes up, I quick highlight everything & copy it just in case so I can reopen the window & simply paste all my comments...

but that issue I think is with the browser sitting idle for so long... but even then sometimes, its a short... well short for me :D response & it takes a bit to load it... like winkie said, almost seems like the reply box is reading over the posts... but its not a real big issue, at least for me, my biggest is trying to get the web browsers to not lose connection or whatever it is (having to re-establish a connection, which is why I think it sits there for so long, as well as occasionally I get a retry connection page in FF 2.0), while sitting Idle for so long.

Okay, this works, but anything more and it just sits there...

...taken from todays Rosetta stats...

These things usually come in three's, so expect something else good to happen :)

Hope you get the UPS thing sorted out Kev, as dcdc says, they will have a record of it somewhere...

Wow! Was it windy last night! Woke the girls up at least twice during the night; luckily though, we didn't loose any fence panels, we did loose the lid to our black recycling box somewhere though :rolleyes:

Must have had a power dip or two during the night, the web server and stats server were both fine (ups), but my other dual core crashed at sometime during the night, couldn't connect to it via vnc, so I connected a monitor to it and it said something like incorrect boot device, please select correct media, or words to that affect. Tried resetting it and got the same error, so I shut it down, connected a keyboard to it so that I could get into bios etc, re started it, but missed the prompt for pressing the del. key, but windows booted staight up. Very odd, but at least it's working again :D

Tried the above with one more sentence and it just fails to post, the browser will sit there indefinately. Tried it in IE too, same thing...

I guess, looking at it, it's hardly a quick reply is it. Something like I'm typing now would be classed as quick, but a full-on post like the example above certainly aint quick :D

I guess it's not a major issue, I'll just have to remember to click the 'post reply' button and do it that way rather than just using the quick reply box...
