Hey all

I had a thought last night as I was working on my lastest case window. My father does engraving. He has a big engraving table that he uses. He does, brass alumnium and a bunch of other medals. He uses diamond tipped blades to do the engraving. Anyway I was thinking, that if I could find a case with thin metal I could do two things.

One I could engrave some cool images on there. He has liquids that can fill the engrave lines and contrast the different colored metals.
Two I could have hit engrave deeper through the metal and basically use the engraver to cut out a window, it might take some further punching, but his machine can cut pretty deep and if the metal was thin, I think it could go right through it.

Plus with this I can take any image and convert it into something he could engrave.

Any ideas or comments?

I'd go with etching the window...I'd use a dremel for making ur own windows or cut-outs instead of that diamond-tipped blade tool, then again it all depends on what's easier for u.

For some sweet mod work check out our affilliates: Moddin'.net (http://www.moddin.net)

Well Jadison, with the engraving machine I could do very intricate designs on a case panel as well it would take the machine about 5 minutes to do where as it would take me and a dremel mch longer. Plus the machine is perfect, me and the dremel are not :)

What I am planning to do here is I guess do things that the average case modder couldn't do. I mean anyone can get a dremel and cut a window. But not everyone can cut out a shamrock in their panel or a dragon. Plus most modder can't etech their windows or etech their cases. I want to be selling cases and products that people couldn't do themselves.

P.S. The cutting tools the engraver can use or not just blades, they actually are more like a diamond tipped saber saw so it should be a very clean and very smooth cut.

Sounds great, Undeadlord! I look forward to ur next project and hopefully some pics!

Btw, my experience with case modding is severely limited, so my suggestion was based merely on what little info I do know. ;) Thanks for the info as well...learn something new bout case modding every day.

Don't worry I will have plenty of pics :) .. I hope if this works out well that I might set up a small side business doing this. Eh, I guess I will have to see how it goes :)
