Due to a post over in the lounge I thought this info that came in from one of my wholesalers was worth posting over here, sorry I can't get the Photo link to work.

Warranty will void, be warned,
To our valued customers, BE WARNED!! All P4 motherboards on the market (478 pin with intel 845,850), including ASUS P4B, P4BM, P4T, P4T-CM, P4T-E, P4T-M, etc. and Epox 4B2A, 4B2M, etc., CAN ONLY SUPPORT 1.5V AGP 4X MODE GRAPHIC CARDS. Fail to do so will burn out Intel 845 & 850 chipsets (see photograph attached --photographed by ASUS). Such consequence also results the manufacture's warranty void (i.e. the warranty that ASUS gives us will get void). Therefore, please check your graphic card vendors if you are not sure whether your card support such mode BEFORE plug it on any of the motherboards stated above. RA Dept. of Morning Star Computer.

Most will be aware but some one may have been caught out.

I've seen notes on this on several different sites -

I think it's on the Giga-byte site as well -

That if you don't configure the board properly, and you don't pay attention to the voltages,

and slot an AGP board in with the incorrect settings - you'll fry the board -

I'd hope that both motherboard manufacturers and video card manufacturers put such a warning in with their boards when they ship them out.

The real danger then would become the after market when the instructions are long gone and some unsuspecting user frys their boards blaming it on defective parts, etc. etc. This is bound to cause some hard feelings between people on EBAY and other places.....
