No problem :)
Just tried it not to long ago on this PC, doesnt run very good, but its cause of this PC, 64MB GF4Ti4200, 512MB RAM, 2 x 10GB HD's (less than a gig on Boot drive, & just under 4gigs on the other...)...
it locked up a couple times, also gotta read the directions on how to access menus & stuff (couldnt find the close or exit app option LOL)
but rendered some really basic terrains fairly quickly :)
But as soon as the other one is up & running, will be nice to see how it runs on that (256MB 7800GT, Dual Core X2 4200+, 1GB RAM, 74GB Raptor...)

Downloading several FREE things from DAZ's store as well, a few character model packs & some other cool stuff...
its nice that they offer many of these plug-ins, add-ons & other stuff to use with Bryce, DAZ 3D, Carrara, Mimic & any of the other 3D apps they use...
will be nice to play with this stuff in my free time...
might buy the lite version of Mimic 3 to add facial & mouth movements to characters... one of the free add-ons I downloaded was Emoti-guy, a 3D emoticon thing... which might be cool, lol :D

My first real attempt at anything... & very quickly learning more & more, just messing with it...

Will be getting the game rig back tomorrow, they just need to install the Mobo/chipset drivers & I'll do the rest of the stuff when i get it home, but WinXP is installed on the Raptor now... so thats taken care of...
but I think I might be spending some time with this on that rig, LOL :D
not to mention with all the 3D models & stuff I had from years ago, gotta try some cool space scenes using that fully poseable Gundam Model I got... if possible...
But found that editing the properties for trees... well... LOL... VERY EASILY & QUICKLY CRASHES THIS PC :o LOL

Sweet, finally found out how to access more features, gotta drag the cursor to top of screen & hold it there for a moment, the the normal drop down menu options appear... found a interesting option in the FILE menu, Network Rendered Manager & Client...
so I'm guessing you can render multiple objects/backgrounds etc for a scene or animation? using multiple PC's?

Awesome 40 second download :)
Smart arse :P :tease:
just a shade over 3 mins here which I didn't think was too bad for a consumer line...
Sounds pretty cool, will have a play with that tomorrow...
Thanks for the liny Shyguy :thumb:

david, nah, when you go into the store link on their site, all you do is where you sort what your browsing thru, near the top of the screen, is select the one option for sale items only.... as you click thru the different categories, the sale item ones (some of which are the Free ones), will show up... then just click add to cart... once your done ordering all of them, then go back into your account options, & I forget which part its under, order history or something... but it will show the list of items to download... then just download them... you get a total of 4 attempts for each item... as well as a time limit (in days) to download them before their cleared out...
the ones I got, Should be (names may not be specific but should be enough to go on),
Emoti guy
Michael 3.0
Victoria 3.0
These 2 are in the people models section (whatever its called)
Aiko 3.0
This ones in the Cartoon character/models section
Spaceship & station (or something like this)
& this one should be in the sci-fi or vehicles section I think?
let me see if I can find links to their pages...

(the one above is for Bryce, since its in the Bryce Content section)
heres the Emoti guy one...

I think the Victoria, Michael, Aiko & emotiguy are for Daz Studio (base version of this is free as well), or Poser...
the space ship one is for Bryce though...
I gotta get DAZ Studio reinstalled on this PC...
I cant remember if it will or not, but should be able to import & texture 3ds & other formats in Daz Studio... I Downloaded a few nice models with textures to see about importing into Bryce eventually... one is the Hammerhead fighter from the TV series Space: Above & Beyond.... got an Idea I want to use to make a scene for my Bro thats in the airforce... using a 3D model of a guy, see if I can make a texture of my bro's face & put it on the model, & have it standing in uniform infront of the fighter, with a nice space backdrop or something...
but anyways its just an idea... need to see if it will work or not LOL
but yeah, now that the game rig is up & running... for the most part, I've been messing with Bryce on this thing & HOLY SH**!!!
what would take about 10 or 12 seconds on the other rig to Anti-alias is almost instantaneous on this one
but yeah, was messing with the Tree editor, trying to make some Pines... LOL
didnt quite work the way I wanted to but, yeah...
here's the results...
First the Render time...
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a117/ShazMX6/AfroTreerendertime.jpg
Now the result LOL
I call it... "AFRO TREE" :D

tad bit too much miracle gro on that one LOL :D

heheh Nice hair doo :D
Well, 2 days in and I'm still no closer to figuring out to do anything...
I tried messing around with a simple background mountain with a shoreline and sky, but when rendering all I get is a grey mountain and no water or sky. Perhaps I'm think it would be easier than it is i.e. drag and drop effects
Patience and persistance rings a bell :D

Winkie, when you click on the object in question to the right of it is a stack of buttons, the one marked "M" is for the materials for it, aka Textures...
click that, then when it opens, it'll show a large Box with a sphere in it in the upper left, click the tiny arrow thing on that box's upper right corner... that will open the selection of Textures & effects for the object, select what you want... then click the Ok button (check mark button on bottom right), then same thing in the previous screen, then back in the main renderer view click the render button & it should show up with the texture or effect you selected... some may not show up as they are intended for lighting effect objects or some other cool things...
but also for the Mountains, or trees or rocks or other stuff... that same list of icons next to the object when you click them, as in case above for the Textures... they should have a Button labeled "E" right below the M button... thats where you edit the objects, Mountains, Rocks, Tree editor, etc... depending on the object it is...
for the mountain you can click it & then when it opens mess around with the different options to change the terrain... also in the editor screens, as well as the texture application ones, the mini render view box thing, can be changed to render the image in regular view, wire frame etc etc, I think some have a Quick Render option & a Full render option... its the little arrow below the view box...
found all this out by accident messing with it a few nights back...
I know a got tons more to find out...
also the Create, Edit, & Sky/Fog options at top of screen are fun to mess with... on the Sky/Fog one, the big black & grey circle thing is how you edit the direction of the sunlight being shined on the object...
also to get the water & sky, you have to do the same thing with the mountain, click the Terrain or Water grid, then hit teh M button & edit what water & terrain you want... same goes for the Sky option as well...

More Bryce Freebie files & Stuff...
http://forum.daz3d.com/viewforum.php?f=49
Its their Forums, nice that they have a section like this to get free things to use in it :D
Also those looking for a cheap upgrade from Bryce 5.0 to 5.5... check here...
http://artzone.daz3d.com/
$20 versus the $120 upgrade for limited time as well...
I'm gonna spring for this while I still have the funds...
also reading their forums, apparently the Download from DAZ's site, in your account profile is the better one, than the one from Download.com... as it supposedly includes the 400 Page manual as well... something about the one on DAZ in you account profile to download is the Corel Version & the one on Download.com is the DAZ version...
anyways... I think the better one is the 90MB file, should be the one in your account profile thingy where you download your files from the list... downloading it now, for safe keeping in future... :D

I have had to contact their support department as the serial number which I am told to use to activate the product does not work.

It's one heck of a serial number two, enough combinations for at least 300 for every person on the planet - Perhaps they are expecting big things

LOL, in my account I got two "issues" of Bryce 5.0... & 4 attempts each... not including the MAC version either :D thats like 16 copies of Bryce
well, if you think about it, some people may have their own render farms so they'll need a butt load of copies of the program...?

Yep as David said, also looking at the post dates, was a year & half back.
Have since then bought & used version 5.5 & more recently 6.0 with the 6.1 updated version (free updates for the specific version you purchased)
