Almost there as I haven't installed the second CPU yet (will do so tomorrow).
So far the motherboard looks very good. Not tweak/overclocking friendly at all but ROCK STABLE and after a couple of tweaks I found on the web with wpcredit, my mem benchmarks went up to my 8KHA+ levels (when at same FSB :))
Currently runs my Athlon AXIA 1G at 1333Mhz and will do so with my other AXIA. And when time comes and prices are right, I will be moving onto proper MP's!
Here's a pic:

Welcome to the SMP club, Otheos! :)
Yeah, Tyan has never been very overclocking friendly. However, when it comes to stability in SMP mainboards, Tyan is a very respectable company!

How did you take the picture when you had both of you hands hard at work? Are you not telling us something about you?
Welcome to the SMP club.

:)
Is that a 90 mm extration fan above the Cpus?
Is it blowing in or out and what way are you cpu fan going?
I wish I had the time to get a dual back up....

I want one too. Otheos how much did the case + the psu cost?

Well the fan directly on top of the CPU's is a 120mm 110cfm fan pushing air towards the cpus.
The other fan you can see is the bottom fan of the enermax PSU. Pushing air as well. Both fans of the HS are pushing too.
My setup in terms of fan direction is different as the cold air comes from behind the case, through the PSU and this is why the PSU fans both push air in the case.
The hot air finally exits at the front bottom. My setup is reversed as the rear of the case is next to the widnow.
I have tested it and it works better this way, so my answer to what setup is better, is what works (for instance my Epox 8KHA+ has the CPU fan sucking, as it works better).
The case is an Aopen HX08, a couple of years old (you can get better cases these days for $100, but I have no complain about the HX).
The PSU is the Enermax 431Watt. This is highly recommended.
Cost? well about $200 for both.
BTW if you consider this board for a Mid tower make sure you find one that has other places to put your hard drives, as the common ones are not going to be available due to the memory sticks.

You could get yourself an nice HP Pavilion with this money instead! Think: the free printer, the great software, 256MB of superfast PC133 and the amazing speed of the P4 1.3GHz.
I think it's a tough call :)

I think that money could be used to buy a more realistic system, you have to way the options with the price. U also have to ask ur self one question...."Do I really need an SMP-based system?"
In Otheos' case, the answer is yes. But if ur not going to be taking full advantage of the systems capabilities and use it for what it's worth, then I suggest spending that money on a low-cost webserver, networked computer, gateway puter, etc.
In my case, I haven't found a need for SMP, maybe in the future.

I like SMP computers. They are very different and I really like them. I want another one. What i really like to do is reach 3 gigs.
