i dunno if anyone has said this... but i think you should make the first page http://xtremepccentral.com a little more..... welcoming.... you know what i mean?

just the plain text is kinda funny looking considering how nice the inside of the site is.....

maybe a news thing or something like techimo..

just a suggestion

Mntsnow, carry on with the good work. I like the new design. Like you say, and it’s the same with anything in life, computers or otherwise, implementation takes considerable time. As you are a one-man show, albeit with the help of some knowledgeable moderators here, it cannot be expected, not by me anyway, that everything ideally is going to be hunky-dory from the offset.

Incidentally, I once downloaded the diagram of your network (very impressive). I noticed that you have a UPS which I’ve been meaning to purchase. It’s the Powerware’s UPS. I think I’m right in saying that the model you have is the 5119. They now have a new model 5125 that I’m going to get (5125 1000I). What do you think of Powerware’s UPSes are there alternatives you would recommend?

I love the powerware UPS. Their software interface is also pretty smooth. I like the fact that I can configure it to shutdown systems that are not even connected to the main ups! (you do have to load a client onto the other computers but still its sweet).

I also have a couple of APC units in the home but they are of course quite a bit smaller than my Powerware unit.

btw my exact unit is http://www.powerware.com/Products/Prestige/product.asp with 2 additional battery packs! Sorry but I didnt have a image in my network drawing that looked anywhere close to mine so I used a generic server looking icon :)

Hi Mike,
Oh good, I’m glad you said what you said about Powerware’s UPSes. I’m itching to get one – may be next week. I will let you know what I think. The model I’m after is the 5125 1000i. That is plenty for me. On the other hand, would you suggest the nine series to the equivalent VA?

The site looks even better now - first class. Keep up the good work.

All the best,

G, ‘G’ but here G-man (I’m feeling dizzy being all these different G’s)

Nah...No need to go to the prestige 9 series. That 5125 looks pretty nice :)

Thanks for the kind words
