I've followed the link mntsnow said to read {www.dslwebserver.com } and followed the numbers so to speak in front page {office xp pro ver.} and I've read the help files and the same at MS's help data base. and I still can't get my site online. I use DNS2GO {paid for license} and my domain there is madfish.d2g.com. I got ports 21 and 80 forwarded in the router and I got the right nic's IP in the router too for those ports. could it be that I pionted it to a dir I made {C:/Home} instead of the default dir {C:/inetpub/wwwroot} one? should I start over from scratch and leave it at the default settings?
The box I'm trying to set the web site up on runs 2000 pro, 2565mb crucial PC133, 20 g W/D powered by Celeron's 700E. the 20 g is partion all as " C " as NTFS.
Thanks for all your help.

Mad,
on the box that is going to be the webserver what do you get when you type in
http://localhost ? or http://ipadress-of-that-box ?
If you dont get anything then either IIS is not running or you have something mis-configured.
BTW If you were running this on the box that has 2k Server on it instead of 2kpro I would be willing to TS (terminal Service) into the box and help set it up for you but since it's just 2K pro I cant :( but if it was XPpro I could :D

I'll redo the box and put 2k server on it tonight and redo the web siter tomorrow after milking. Thanks so much Sir. I'm getting myself sooo confused, lol, plus lack of sleeping don't help. and I'll try what you suggested above first befor I redo the OS.
as for XP pro, I ermm havn't got my errmm legit version yet from MS parteners, so I'm ermm not running that at the moment.

If you created a dir and put your files there, your FP extensions will not work, ie forums, counters, etc. Leave them in C:/inetpub/wwwroot
should work.

gosh darn I forgot about this question, I been so busy setting up IIS for FTP and my Drake box and getting a couple machines ready for xmas donation. I'll fool around with it again and this time leave everything at defaults. Thanks
