Rant time, I'm not happy, I been asking my DC team teammates for some help with UT goty server set up questions and none have bothered to repley. and the ones I've ask have run a ut server in the past few months and thiers worked fine.

Question: I'll ask here. I can't figure out why UT crashes when I start it up as server. at first it worked fine, last night was a blast with some cnanda friends. not ti just crashes. I have 1 gig ram, in the dulie P-III 850E under 2000 pro. I just have the maps that come with ut. the game will load into server state then crash within 30 seconds everything is at default settings. I've rebooted hot and have done a cold boot too. cleaned reinstall the game. same dam thing.
any help, idears, and links would be very welcome.

I have virus scanned and ran my trojan cleaner, came up clean.
defragged, scan disked too.
ATA100/7200 drives non raided

hrmm have you checked event viewer to see if something is crashing?

* Pshawn5 has no idea, never ran a server off my line.

I havent setup a ut server but I will look into it Madfish...Sounds like a learning experance in the making

TY Mike, and no ps5, I havn't thought of that, duh! I'll check that out now.

Edit: btw I'm learning all this server/ftp/http/game server stuff mostly on my own and from ya all here. I do get very upset over it and lose alot of sleep too. I hate going to bed when I know something is being left unfinished, lol so I stay up 1-2 days till I get it done.

Yes, but getting a good nights sleep always helps. :)

jadsion: thats what I've always heard, I have trouble getting to sleep. and then staying alsleep, I avg about 3-4 hrs night, 5 hrs on a good night.

Mad - I'll fire it up on my machine tonight! - how have you made out so far?

I have GOTY and 2003 - but my processor is a minimum on the 2k3 side of UT.

I havn't gotany farther with it, I installed w2k server and I'm figureing this out now. I still like to host a pvt ut server for some select ppl.
maybe after christmas,. I still got alot to learn about w2k server first

NP - I got w2k server in a toss of software - So I may play with it too!
