crazy mouse??!!?!

i'm playing counterstrike like usual, and recently i changed my mouse from the logitech first wheel mouse to the microsoft wheel mouse optical. now when i'm playing cs at times the mouse will change the guns without me doing anythign, so if i see a guy and i'm about to shoot,out of nowhere the gun switches ot a knife. it sucks big time,...anyone know a way i can fix this problem?

go into the game settings, under setup, under hardware, try to reset the mouse or recalibrate it, if that's possible.

Also check to see if the drivers for ur mouse are updated. Go into the setup for ur mouse and check all ur settings, recalibrate it.

umm where would i go to find microsoft mouse drivers... i dont want to look in the big scary microsoft.com by myself :D

Go HERE (http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse/download.asp)

Pick ur OS, then pick ur language, click <Download>, and ur set!


PS. When ur done downloading the file, 1st delete any previous MSFT drivers or software for ur mouse, make sure you did that correctly by going into Device Manager and look under <Mouse>, it shouldn't display your MSFT drivers, instead it should be a generic USB or PS/2 driver listed. You may have to restart ur computer after deleting the device driver or files. Then after that, install the drivers u downloaded.

Check here to make sure you have the latest version of Counter-Strike: http://www.counter-strike.net/

I have a MSFT Intellimouse Optical, and I haven't noticed any problems, but it could just be an incompatibility between your mouse and the game.

I'm working on it....
