I run 10/100 nic`s. now can I add a machine that just has a 10 base nic and have it work? I don't need it to talk to the server, just to get online and grab seti WU's. I ask as I heard you couldn't mix the two types together and have them all play nicely.
Thanks

I have never ran into an issue with running a 10 based NIC and a 10/100 based NIC as long as you set the PC up to use the Auto Detect feature in the NIC properties. We have a lot of that here at my job...

Thanks
:)
depends on your router and or minihub - if it can auto-sense the speed the attached card needs - you'll be fine - but not all 100Baset routers and hubs are auto-sensing in which case you'd probably have trouble with the 10BaseT card -
otherwise - you should be fine -
I prefer netgear 10/100 auto-sensing equipment - it's a few $ more - but I've never had any troubles with my stuff.

I think that 10/100 means that it is compatible with both speeds, 10 and 100 mbps, so you shouldn't have a prob.
