I finaly have my satelite internet connection up and working after 3 months.
It took the first installer 2 tries with little success. The connection only lasted 2 or 3 days each time and then would die. Direcway needs a signal strength of 30 to function properly and mine would go from 68 to 10 and never recover. Tech support could not help with the problem so we were having it out with Direcway to take the hardware back and refund our money.
Part of the process was to have a second installer come and see what he could do. His installation was extremely professional compared to the first installation. He checked every component and all of the cabling. Replaced both modems and the usb cable. He got a full signal at the dish but nothing at the system so he ran a jumper cable from the dish to the system and bypassed the original coax cabling. Bam, the system was up and running. The first installers cabling wound up being faulty.
Now im enjoying a quick broadband connection for the first time.
I know you want to see them so heres the speed tests I took this morning. At peak usage times im getting around 400-600 kbps wich is still very good compared to what we had.
