works great! glad the link was posted here! however the newest version of nero is causing the drive to be used at 20x instead of 40x...is that the max speed? or is it the cd's im using?
thanks

I have been using Maxell 700mb/80min, and Nero 5.5.9.9, and I burn at 32, but they are certified to 40.
Ive been using memorex, Phillips and no name cdr's and my liteon burns at 40x flawlessly.
I have to get some 99 minutes discs to play with that as well, these things overburn like theres no tomorrow.

i'm using i believe 16x memorex at 40x, no problem so far....
I have some old Memorex CDRW 4X Media which all of the sudden became 2X CDRW medias.... I tried reformatting and still shows at 2X! I opened up a fresh pack and this one writes at 4X....
Oh I almost forgot...you have to do a flash update on the liteon firmware or you have little problems like you have.
go to www.liteonit.com
Note that some burners adjust their speed to the media (Zone CLV technology & Optimum Write Speed control). So if you put in 24x and tell it to burn at 40x, it's still burns at 24x (or whatever speed it decides is safe for that media). That's the main reason I got a newer 40x, it's nice just to click burn and not have to worry about any settings.
So if the flash update doesn't change you prob, maybe Nero actually tells you what it is going to burn at which would give you the lower number.
