In windows explorer if you right-click properties on one of the frontpage web hidden folders ( _vti_pvt, _overlay, etc) the size listed is smaller than the size on disk that is listed. It's usually a small difference. I have one web where there is a very large difference. Win reports the size as 400Kb but the size on disk listed is 2Mb. The same happens when uploaded to my host. Does anybody know why? I would delete the files, but I'm not sure what files I can delete in those folders without killing the web. If I copy a file to a different folder it's still big, so it's not hidden files or anything. Any ideas

How many files are there in that folder? It may be because there are many files. More disk space is allocated for the same size data with many files vs. a few files...

Well, some of the folders only have about 8 files and some have many files. I see what your saying, but it's a huge difference. I assume there is somehing else going on. The whole web should be around 5mb, but it's 35 .
