I've been suffering along on a cheap clone of an internal PCI LT Winmodem, and as a result am relegated to surfing through Windows/IE.

Yuck.

I'm going for an extrenal hardware modem soon, and I'm looking for a good one that both Linux, Win95 and Win98 will like.

Ideas Please? Money is not a problem for this upgrade.

Although I use the USR 56K, I would suggest the Diamond Supra. The newer ones also support V.92 when it becomes available.

I would have to second otheos on the USR. These are THE best modems ever.

I've used US Robotics hardware modems for about 2 years now, ever since I started using Linux! They work well, drivers are easily updated. Linux will only take hardware modems...they're also a great back-up if ur broadband flakes out on ya!
