hehe
the router works perfectly fine, just one thing
how do i set it up so i can send and recieve files from aol instant messenger, yahoo messenger and icq?
kind of sucks that i have to disconnect from the router to send a file :(
Typically you want to forward the approprite ports to your computers LAN IP address. I don't know the ports for those programs but they should be easy to find with a search engine.
The default port for AOL Instant Messanger is 5190. However, you can specify another port if desired.
As for ICQ, you will need to forward port 5190 or 1080 depending on the version you have. It can be assigned a different port as well. However, you will need to forward additional ports if you want to do file transfers. These ports will be 24500-24519 which can be assigned under Connections\User\ and check Not Using Proxy to make the greyed out fields available... However, this doesn't seem to work for all versions of ICQ. I had no problems using these settings as descrived in ICQ with 99, 2000, and 2001, but won't work with 2002. Mike and I wrestled this out for some time and eventually gave up...

Yep...With the change to 2002 we couldnt get a direct connection any more so we now just use FTP shares when needed :D
