I have an Antec TruePower 550W in an MP 2100+ duallie box. It is getting VERY hot to touch on top. I have a 8cm fan blowing out immediately above it, but it still becomes quite hot to the touch on occasion (have the side off ATM).

Is this usual for Antec TruePower PSU's?? The ambient case temps are around 35-40C (air tem is about 30C in this room), and the CPU temps are around 45C. No problems with freezing or random restarts, it's just that I felt the top of the PSU and it was HOT!

Thanks
Mick

The temps are normal, I believe, however it shouldn't be that hot to the touch, at least my True380 isn't. Does yours have a dual-fan option?

It has some kind of self-regulating fan. I'm wondering whether it's not regulating right.

Cheers

I also have the Antec True Power 550 EPS12V for my dual Xeon server, but it is not that hot at all. It's just a little warm at touch, no more.
CPU temp are 32-25 deg and system is 36-38 deg.
Could be a fan not doing it's job properly???

Mich, I think you might want to make a call to their tech. dept.
No PSU should be hot. Warn yes. Hot NO.
