Greg arrived at Pope Air Force base this morning at 7am. He will be at Ft Bragg untill the 15th and then he is coming home for 10 days of getting drunk and kicking back with dad! :chug: :chug:
Woo Hoo!
Bad news is that he has heard they are returning in October.
Just don't think about the future and enjoy the time you guys have. And be sure to tell him thanks for serving our country. I hope you two get some quality time together.

When my nephew got back, I found the best thing I could do for him was sit down with a few beers, shut up, and LISTEN. He talked for hours. I know it helped him immensely.

Great News Mike!!! Glad to hear Greg's finally home!!!
M_Six, count your blessings! My Son was there for 18 months. He got home and would not talk much about it, for a couple of months. There's a lot of stuff that he still won't talk about with me, and we are very close, as Father, and Son! I just don't bring it up.I figure when He's ready, He'll talk with me about it.

sorry for the late comment - Glad Greg is back!
LKS - I normally don't ask what unit someone is with - I know my friends in the forces do talk about where they work - or who for. Its just a curtesy I extend - they don't have to think of an answer to satify my ?
MH - the air fortresses normally can be seen off the deck of the house - up at altitude - I always wave on the way by!
At night - I can count them on the way back.
cheers Centurion
PS - have a beer for me!
