Ray's Packard Bell Web Site (http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/8774/index.html) & Another Packard Bell Site (http://pages.infinit.net/velix/packardbell.htm) are good places to start. Packard Bell no longer maintains an official Web Site in the U.S. You got to go somewhere to find information on these old Dinosaurs!

I can't imagine wanting to work on a PB.

A friend asked me to work on his Emachine... For a minute there I thought I could do calculations in my head faster than his computer. ;)

Hehe, my brother-in-law worked for PB tech support. He still works for NEC or whoever they were owned by.

If you are in the puter repair you always need help.
This is a good help site.
They are not all 1.5 Pens out there.

so many reasons to never bother fixing a PB - so little time......

It was NEC that used to own PB, but they closed down the division as unprofitable.....

More and more each day I feel that DELL is going in the same direction.....

If DELL has the best tech support - I've discovered why I keep building my own - ......

I dislike most PB pooters also. Did an upgrade to a "Newer" one the other day. This one started life half-way respectable.
PII 350
Intel 440 BX board
ATI Rage Pro agp card
Onboard Creative sound
Supra 2500 56k modem

This was the first one I could do something with, without major surgery...;)

Slapped in a 500 Celeron, boosted the memory to 128 meg and sent it on its merry way...

When people ask if I can upgrade their PB I usually tell them... Yes I can BUT it's cheaper to have me build you a new computer.

My dad used to say this about some old cars. Applies to PB's too.

"You need to jack that thing up and drive a new one under it!"
