...who's sitting home alone tonight, bee-HAVE-ING, (grrrr) on a perfectly fine St Patrick's day! :(
Da Lass's son is getting married Saturday, and your faithful knothead has been ferrying her friend back from Burbank airport over to her place. This lady flew clear down from Seattle to be there for Robin! :)
After watching their reunion, (ya know, two good friends who hadn't seen each other in several years) I decided that discretion should be the better part of valor, and so I dropped her and Carol off at her place and beat a hasty retreat, ya know?
Now they're over there catching up, and I'm back at the loft, typing this, and feeling mighty sorry for m'self indeed.
*Boo hoo!* :P
I should be getting drunk on Principle, except I forgot to lay in a supply of booze. Shoot.
*Boo hoo!*

*sigh*
I think I'll put a videocassette on the TV...
Fast Times At Ridgemont High...
Jaws...
The Maltese Falcon...
*sigh* I really should have left a bottle around here, as my present circumstances would likely be MUCH IMPROVED by the inclusion of some Spirits...
Yaah, who am I kidding, I gotta work tomorrow.
Nevermind. :D

Irish and no single malt anywhere? I was in the same boat last night... and getting to work at 6AM with a 62 mile commute would have been a pain.

Lotta Irish blood in my background, so what did I drink?
Vodka.
Dang wiskey gives me a headache.
Anyhow it was some new foo-foo vodka my wife bought me for Valentine's day: "Ciroc". distilled 5 times and made in France from (of all things...) GRAPES!
She's a lovely little woman, really. She just knows zip about vodka. She picked it because she "thought the bottle looked cute."

Nasty things when drinks are bought based on the bottle!
My Grand mother is full blooded Scottish from Scotland, We have alot of family over there still and there is a great history of the MacRay's including the Eilean Donan castle at Loch Long.

The first night I met my Wife, I asked her if she had any Irish in her, when she replied no, I asked if she wanted some :bunny:
Although not Irish myself, I have a bit in me as my Father was born in Dalkey and most of my relatives on my Fathers side that are left still live around the Dublin area, and a few down in Co. Wexford. I haven't been over for a few years now, but it's a lovely place and I am planning on taking my family over there maybe next year for a holiday...
As for the drink, well I think most of you know me :bunny:
Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, Knot. I was also "alkohol frei" last night. Now tonight will be a different story. We're meeting at a new Smokey Bones restaurant for some ribs and beer to celebrate a friend's birthday. :chug:

Though I'm not Irish (Scottish - from the isle of erin) I made sure to buy a fifth of crown royal. I'm not a big fan of commercial Irish whiskies for some reason or another. Just find em a bit harsh, unless they are home distilled in copper (true Irish tradition). Love a good aged scotch tho. :D
One day, I'm gonna buy a still and make my own - sounds like fun.

:ROF:
Anyway if i have anything Irish in me then it's very little, as far as any of my family knows we are all Dutch, but ofcourse it's possible that many generations ago there was someone Irish, or German or whatever.
