Well Team Rea and I had a very long talk today.
After seeing all the pm's and chat's foward to us.
We will not be doing anymore Contest. It's caused us to much grief.
Now we will help members that want some hardware and software at the lower end of the stats.
The thing is we like to help the team.
But I don't know what we will do.
Stayed turned.
No prob Kev and Rea you two have been and always will be in my book as two of the XPC greats, and I fully understand where you are coming from.

I also would like to thank you, Kev & Rea. You two have shown dedication to the XPC FAD team, the forums and the FAD project far and beyond what most of us have given. :chug:
I appreciate your willingness to help others to advance the Find-a-Drug project, in whatever way you see fit.
I am disappointed, though, that this has come about through the inappropriate actions of others. :( I would have hoped memebrs of this team and forum would have been more mature in their responses to your previous contents. But, we all learn from experiences, I hope.
Thanks for letting us know what you have decided.
Cheers
Mick
As Murphy once said...No good deed goes unpunished.
Here these guys were tryin to do something nice for everyone, spice things up a bit and promote FaD and this is how we repay em.
Good job guys...hope yer happy.

Kev and Rea you know you guy's are the best to me!!!!! I am so sorry for what has happened. You both have did some great deeds for the whole team and if everyone would have just seen the good and not worry about all the crap that did'nt matter to begin with, none of this would have happened to spoil it for the whole team....... :sob:

kev and rea...i support your decision. doing the contest ain't worth it, if it causes more stress and bother than it's worth.
i would rather see the contests end than to see you get more flak and possibly leaving because some individuals here __still__ just don't get it!!!
even after repeated posts by Snowman and other members requesting everyone to act responsibly and maturely, we still have some think-headed people who instead of politely discussing their concerns in a rational & calm manner, insist on selfishly lashing out and accusing others of cheating, favoritism, or what have you.
how many more incidents and how much more damage will ensue before you f*****g morons either stop, grow up, or figure it out.
ohhh...and apologizing afterwards, ain't worth crap. had you stopped to think about what you are doing instead of just blindly doing it, then there would be no need to apologize.
[end of lecture]
kev & rea, thanks for your support and your caring. the best way you guys can help around here is just _being_ here, posting in the forums and chit-chatting. we won't love you any more or any less because of the contests. :)

well with recent events, I guess I Did see this coming...
But Anyways, Thanks To Kev, Rea, & everyone else who has donated to these past giveaways.
& Me, & I'm sure the rest of the team, are glad to hear that you guys want to continue to help with the team, even if it is with the lower ranking members (output wise or just less / less powerful crunchers). Which really is the way it should be.
& As Da Boss said, "Thanks for all you have done in the past.....", & I'll add, Thanks To all you'll do in the Future, as well!!!:)

Yes apparently the best way for ANYONE to support this team is to just let their numbers speak for themselves. Anything more it seems to just get thrown back in your face. Which explains why I rarely post anymore....oh well.

>>Anything more it seems to just get thrown back in your face. Which explains why I rarely post anymore....oh well.
now, now Gouki...it's not everyone on the team and if no one bothered to post, this place would certainly be a shadow of itself.
on the positive side, i see many former XPC'ers who've left (ie. crunch under a different banner) who still come here to visit. i think that's speaks volumes about this community.
*edit*
lol. It's all good.
I should take your guys advice and think a little before I post...that did get under my skin pretty quick though.
Anyways....if ya can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. :censored:

I think that was my fault, Gouki, as PJ was PMing me something. I apologise on his behalf, if that's possible. :)

Thanks Kev and Rea for all you've done. :D
I wish all this hadn't gone down . . . and for the record, I've never known or suspected and favoritism in the contests. Kev and Rea have always been straight foreward in trying to make the contests as fair and honest as possible. :D
Once again, I'm sorry you had to go through all the hassle's, while trying to do something nice for the Team, [FAD], and XPC.

yeah, i was fresh off responding to Mick's PM when i posted that. my apologies.
No worries...gonna go crawl back underneath the rock that I came out from and concentrate on crunching. :)

thanks, Gouki...this is my first rant, long overdue. guess i think faster than i type.

Hate to say it.... but I saw this coming.... http://www.xtremepccentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=143246&postcount=47 right before snowman locked it...
Kev and Rea, I support your decision....even though I want to win something :D, at least once in my life
Keep up the good work guys... your hearts are bigger than some deserve. There shouldn't be any grief when you are trying to do something good.... but sometimes it happens... :(

Wow, I seem to have missed something. Maybe someone could fill in the blanks with a few broad strokes?
Anyhow, whatever has transpired, I'm sorry that it had to end this way - with so many good members obviously harboring resentment and hard-feelings. A damn shame.
Kev & Rea, I havent been around for many of your contests, but I did enjoy the one I participated in. Thank you.
Best regards,

Thanks Kev and Rea for the contests and everything that you have done for XPC and fads team spirit sorry it had to end like this. I will say that if i had'nt won that one contest i wouldnot have the crunching power i have now and when i did win the contest, well it was almost as good as sex. :)
Thanks again Kev and Rea :winner: :stadium:

Kev and Rea, thank you two so much for everything that you have done for the members and staff here on XPC.
You have helped out alot in helping out that we get good crunchers for FAD and keep us more interested in doing so.
Also thank you for the new cruncher, I will make sure that it is put to good use :)
That's to bad, as the contests were fun, and you and Rea had finally reached the 50 contestants mark with the last contest :) But as others have said, no sense in doing it if it cause's you to lose sleep so to speak. Thanks for the contests we had, and thanks for the help you'll give others in the future

Seeing i'm the reason for this all happening i'm truly sorry, my intentions were never to cause problems, my only intention was to find out the truth, whatever it was, and i'm sorry that i hurted anyone, especially gjimene who i accused of "cheating", Kev and Rea who have been doing these contest for us, and Mntsnow who put the trust in me when he made me a moderator that i would do things right, not wrong.
The last few days i have been trying to figure out what to say as people are generally mad at me, and if i wouldn't care then it would be much easier, because then i could just throw some insults at you guys and take off, but since that is not the case, and because i'm a moderator i need to make sure i do the right thing if ever want you all to trust me again. (that is ofcourse if you even trusted me in the first place)
Fact is though that i don't really know what the right thing to say is, i don't even know what to say to Kev to make this right again, let alone a whole group of people.
I guess i will keep it to that i learned from this, and that i will do things different next time, and that i'm sorry. And if that's not enough then say so and i will move to team 0.

Thanks Kevin and Rea.
I'm surprised at the length of time the contests lasted, from a financial view alone, so I'm not surprised to see it end when you are getting grief over it.
You two have definately made this more fulfilling with your generosity, but I won't think any less of you for saying forget it.

A sad thing indeed, that your generosity and high spirits have come to such a pass. It seems that no good deed goes unpunished. Life is funny, here on Earth...:(
But that's okay, your good deeds will live on in our memories, and your efforts to boost the FaD cause have clearly borne fruit, as witnessed by the status of XPC's FaD team. Quite remarkable!
I suggest you give yourselves a hearty clap on the back, and know that we who toil in the vineyards think the world of you two! :)

Gohan,
Speaking for myself, I dont think you are soley responsible for the ending of the contests. IMO, it was the sum of many things which conspired to bring about this end, this last incident just being the final straw. Everything that has a beginning has an end, and while it is tragic it had to end on this note, if we really want to have contests then we'll find a way to pick-up the torch where Kev & Rea left off, just as they did with Lauren.
To err is human, to forgive is divine. Live and learn.
That's my .02 FWIW.

ditto on that one. Maybe I don't come around enough to put the 2+2 together or something. On other forums that I attend, they actually did away with private messaging for reasons like this. so accusations could only be made out in the open. Makes people think twice before making an *** out of themselves in front of everyone.
Even though I never won a contest (i know it iw as rigged!!! j/k ;) ), I'd liek to thank you both, plus the other contributors for the chance and the fun they brought about.

Ok, for those who missed out on events, here's a Reader's Digest version: ;)
In Flashchat, Gohan mentioned that he thought there was a way of drastically increasing your chances of winning the contest. gjimene (Gabe -who had won the last lotto contest) entered the chat, and Gohan confronted him about his idea. Gabe became upset, <edit>there was some debate on the issue,</edit> and Gohan kicked him out of the chat room <edit for swearing at him</edit>. There were a few others in there, and they moved into a different room with Gabe, and Gohan also came back into the different room and <edit>further expanded his theory after questioning by those in the other chat room (Gabe left quickly).</edit>.
All of this was reported by those in the chat (including Gohan) to Mntsnow. He saw a copy of the chat log, and the result is that Gohan has publicly (and I believe privately) apologised to those concerned.
Kev and Rea understandably were upset over all this, which resulted from Gohan reasoning that they always picked numbers low to high in their series. Hence this thread.
That's it in a nutshell. Hopefully that will give some insight into what happened, and let us get on with things. :)
Cheers
Mick
edit1: changed a couple of bit for accuracy. If anyone else who was in the initial chat session has any problems with my condensed version of events (I only read the log of that session, I was only in the second room), please PM me if I need to alter it to be more factual. Thanks.

I was there in flashchat when all this happened, and thats not quite how I remember it happening.
People can we please just drop it. It is done and over with and no need for anyone to get upset all over again. Let's just get on with things the way they used to be please.

Well, this thing with Gohan is only one reasons we stop them.
Hey if a XPC mod can get away with this kind of stuff.
After all that happen over the past month or so.
With the Spam, humour and respect and Problems or Issues threads.
Plus all the comments posted by the members and even Mntsnow himself.
Than this happens like nothing was ever said.
Hey maybe it's me. Maybe i'm crazy.
Rea has left and won't be back. She took XPC out of her bookmarks.
Don't know how much more I can stand............:(

I'm not getting upset all over again, I haven't stopped being upset from the beginning. I'm only trying to point out that the incident as described in post #30 does not quite match with my memory of what happened that nite.
is because a XPC mod can get away with this kind of stuff.
Exactly how I feel. Thank you.
^^^ Plus, it could be that your vid card needs aditional power, I only have a 9800Pro IceQ, and that sucker needs another power source...
