I've got an Albatron PX865PE PRO II motherboard that the Northbridge cooling fan is acting like its about to croak. I need either A) replacement fan that might fit it, B) heatsink/fan kit, or C) location of a good one to purchase.

I prefer (but don't have to have) just the fan - I think its a 40mm fan, but not 100% sure. The one that is in it now is clear and has a blue neon light.
http://www.albatron.com.tw/images/product/it/mb/Picture/Big/PX865PEProII.jpg is a picture of what the motherboard looks like.

I don't mind buying the whole assemly (heatsink and fan) but am not sure what is compatible with this motherboard.
TIA!

Directron (http://www.directron.com/mw410m12s.html) Has several to choose from starting around $5 and upto $10 some with lights some without. 40mm fans

Newegg also has them for $5-10 just look under fans and choose 40mm for size

I have used fan from radio shack when the chipset fans die.

I HIGHLY suggest you get rid of the fan altogether and just get a good Heatsink...
Nearly ALL fans that small, die or make noise very soon after being installed...

I had previously checked at Newegg, Dealsonic, Cyberguys, Computergate, and a handful of others before posting here. Newegg's selection was slim, having only 1-2 in stock when I looked and I though 30.00 was a little high for what was available. I could have just bought one of their 40mm fans, however I don't know if it would have fit the heatsink currently on there - they had high db levels but I doubt it would make any difference than what is already on here - its pretty loud lol.

The one from Directron looks like the one that's on there now. Even if I don't use it, I still need one if I decide to sell my motherboard later. I have already considered the ZALMAN ZM-NB47J - as I think I saw that at one of the other sites too.

Thanks, everyone, for looking.

I have a spare Zalman at home, that hasn't been used. Just about any 40mm HSF can be used as well. I've used a variety over the years. I'll take a look at the model number tonight.

Cool. I just noticed that the fan is a 3pin (on the motherboard). Will having a 2pin affect it? It has a nice copper heatsink, but I'm just wondering how much of a difference it would be if I just disconnected the fan altogether (aside from the absence of noise).

I have the NB32J model.

Usually, I try to replace the fans as stability can be adversely affected. Last week, I put a 4000 RPM 40mm server fan on a 55mm HS. It's quiet(I didn't thnk it would be) and runs well. Epoxy or JB Weld can be your firend on these as well.

Send me your address and I'll ship you a fan/fans that should work well.

I thought about that - but decided against it as the limited space on my motherboard for the northbridge.
