I put together 2 systems yesterday.
1 a NF2.Ultra 400 board...2700+.......and bah bah bah.
The second is a DFI lan....3400+ Clawhammer....bah bah bah.
Anyway the 2700+ system is fine.
The 3400+ smoked........:(
I got it altogether wire loom in all.
Double checked everything and powered it up.
Seemed fine than smoke,..:eek::eek:.........I pulled the power cord.
I fould the wires and plug to the floppy melted.
Not sure if it was a bad plug on a dead short in the floppy.
It's a black floppy that one of the members sent to me in a deal I think.
Don't know who doesn't matter anyways...........Sh** happens.
So I repaired the wiring......Nice to have a pin tool.
Trashed the floppy. Only put it in because the board came with a disk for the Raid drivers.
Anyway scared the S*** out of me..............:D

As long as nothing else got damaged, not an issue. :) I "smoked" a drive once by letting some bare wires come into contact with it. :o Lots of smoke, wires melted and sparks galore, and the drive worked no more. But eveything else, including the PSU which sparks shot out of, worked fine after resetting everything. :P

Now I make sure all wires are covered, even when testing. Safer.

Cheers
