I wanted to post this in the contest thread, but it's been locked :(
Feel free to delete it/lock it, ban me whatever, at least I will be happy that I posted it...
Gohan, you completely missed the point;
Forget mathematics, that is 27+34 or 95*3. This is law of averages, something very very different.
By picking all low numbers, you do not increase your chances of winning overall. In this occasion, by chance he did win, but the chances of having 2 numbers in the lower 1/6 of a set of numbers is extremely low. You would epect to find 6 random numbers spread through the range in which case Gabe would have got through the first round, then got no further because subsequent numbers would be outside the range of numbers he chose. Throw a die in the air a few times, does it always land on 1 or 2???
If you would be so good as to look at my list of random numbers a couple of posts above, I picked 24 sets of random numbers in the range of 1300 through to 1500, then compared both Gabes AND your numbers against them using the same principle as used by Roadtech. Out of those 24 sets, both you and Gabe got through to the second round several times, Gabe got no further because his numbers were too low, you on the other hand actually won using the set of numbers (an even spread through the range I might add) that you used for the contest.
A bad looser indeed :mad:
By accusing Gabe of cheating or insinuating that he might have cheated and that you are STILL harping on that he might have done so, YOU ARE in fact calling him a cheat, and infront of the entire forum - This is disgraceful disgusting behavour!
Gabe chose those numbers as anyone else chooses their numbers, some use a random generator, some pick sets of numbers, some pick high, some pick low. Gabe this time chose low numbers, so what!. He didn't know what numbers Roadtech was going to pick the same way that no-one else did.
If the first number out was 1328 (itself a low number) he wouldn't have even got through to round 2! So don't give it all the "He deliberately chose low" BS. You certainly DO NOT have more chance of getting the second number out. Law of averages show the facts.
As for his actions in the chat, having looked through the script, the way you came in and started accusing Gabe would be enough to start anyone off. If you did it to me in the same way, I'd jump all over you!!!
You might not have though so, but as an outsider to the incident, I can see it and so can many others...
Thats it, rant over, I spent a while typing this and wanted to at least post it...
