Actually, here in North America, everyone's culture is our culture.
Melting pot and all that.
The Chinese new year is another favourite of mine, as the buffet restaurants usually have good specials.

There are millions of Irish Americans, millions of Chinese Americans. The US is composed of just about every race and creed in the world. :D

in China, the chinese new year celebration is a _3_ day holiday celebrating food, family & friends. whereas here in North America and the rest of the western world, our version is just 1 day.
i'll take the chinese version, please. :D

Ya know what's funny? My friend Ken (in Ireland) tells me that over there, St. Patrick's day is celebrated sorta like we do the 4th of July...picnics in the park, family outings, etc.
He says the custom of getting "plowed" on St. Paddy's is an American one!
And boy, do they...da Lass and I plan to avoid our favorite Irish pub on Thursday...she said you could barely breathe in there last year!
So I suggested we could either:
a) Attend church, or
b) Get bombed on the couch with some buddies!
Hmm! Which do YOU think will happen? :D :D
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
ERIN GO BRAUGH!! :D

This time im going to be on the other side of the bar spending my $$ :D
