While teaching kids gun safety and stating he is the only one professional enough to handle the gun a DEA officer manages to shoot himself in the leg. He then just asks if everybody is ok and goes on with the demonstration like nothing happened.

He shoots himself in the leg, asks if everybody's okay with that, and continues the demonstration??
Boy, now THAT'S nerve...or lack thereof...or something...
That would be funny if he continued the lesson, then shot himself in the other leg (I have a somewhat gauche sense of humor).
Then he goes to another campus and shoots himself somewhere else...he'd be FAMOUS in NO time!! Everybody would be WILD to see the cop who always shoots himself!
Eventually he'd show up for his little demonstrations in a cigar box!
Hey, I know a great 'hook' when I see one! :D

I guess it really is true..."there is no such thing as an unloaded gun".
The average NRA gun safety class student could identify about 5 errors in his gun handling. I'll bet he wont be doing that again. Moron...Give that guy a desk!

I could never figure out how some idiots manage to shoot themselves while cleaning a firearm. It seems like quite a feat to do so.

Me either. My best guess is, they were horsing around with it, maybe thought "it ain't loaded" (fatal last words) and when the ambulance guys incredulously asked "How on EARTH did you manage THAT?"
Seems they always like to say...
"Uh...I was cleaning it an' it went boom!" :P

That would be funny if he continued the lesson, then shot himself in the other leg
he could then be called a keystone cop :D

I have taught this course for close to 15 years -
The first rule - and that goes for police officers - is that all live ammo is removed from all kits and each firearm is checked to ensure all will not fire.
In Canada - Federal legislation mandated the requirement that all firearms in training sessions were DEWAT.
So how this guy pulled this one!?
Cheers - C
And here's the video (http://www.lookatentertainment.com/v/v-619.htm)
Looks like he wanted to show off a machine gun at the end and "finish off" the job....
Idiot!
