I'm asking this for a friend. He's been with M$N with a dial-up connection for a
couple of years. He wants to switch to the local cable INTERNET. He has been able to back up his address book but can't backup his "Favorites" I know of
one way (go to each site copy/paste the URL to word pad) the list is very long. The
time involved would be hours and hours. He uses M$N's browser, so the list of
favorites is on their server. You can't lasso them and copy. We've tried. Any
ideas on how to get past this block so the favorites can be copied to a CD?

Doesn't he have the same favorites on Internet Explorer that he has at MSN? Mine are the same with Flashpeak Slimbrowser, Msn Explorer Browser and just plain Internet Explorer. The same I have if I go to My Computer, my hard drive, Documents and Settings , my name, then Favorites. I keep mine backed up on my jump drive so i can move them from one box to another.

No they're not on IE. He doesn't use IE. The favorites shown in documents show the same as in the browser. They're not accessed the same way as in
IE.

My buddy wants to go to IE. He came to my house and used my rig for a while. I've had cable for alond time. He was hooked. M$N won't let you export.

Another way he can do it is open up a folder, and then find his favorites and drag and drop them into the folder - that's what I do when I can't save to My Favorites or similar. Then I just save the folder.

Although I have never tried it, not being an MSN user, have a look Here (http://msmvps.com/belfiore/articles/15041.aspx)

Thanks, but that doesn't work.
