I still haven't been able to identify a solid state drive larger than this - 3GB

My dream system would have a RAID1 array with 2 of these drives for the operating system and a RAID5 array of 3 conventional 7200 rpm hard drives for data storage -

If any of you know of someone else selling to the public with a larger product - please let us know -

They don't post that information any more - the last time I did see it posted, a 3GB drive cost over $16,000.00 -

I'd be willing to bet that the price has dropped substantially in the last few years.

Under their sales tab, there is a telephone number if you want to call -

Cool article behind the link - 1000G's of shock before failure - wonder how they tested that.....

Sounds like something that would work really well on the space shuttle or a missle with the right EM shielding in place - say covered in an inch of lead should do it.....

here's an updated link (http://www.bitmicro.com/news_010618.html)

Now - if that made your head spin - take a look at this off the manufacturer's web site -

a 17GB solid state drive!!! - 1500 G shock tolerance - now that's a skull scratcher as to how they tested it -

Still haven't found a price -

Can you imagine a RAID5 array of these? - Move over smart media!!!
