Well T-bird is gone, my bro asked if he could take it over to his best friends house to hook it up & play Delta Force Blackhawk Down, I said I suppose, being as soon as the banks open, probably Monday, I'll have my money for it, so I said yeah, OK. So no mo T-bird.... YEAH I KNOW, a lot of you are thinking... FINALLY? Same here, now I have to see about finding out why the P3 800 starts but doesn't boot, maybe I'll try that later.

Just curious, the one job on teh T-bird was at over 208,000 Seconds & about 200+ hits, I couldn't stop it, so I shut FaD down & copied the entire Find-a-Drug folder on to my 128MB jumpdrive, If I copied that to teh main rig, would it continue that one job? I'd hate to lose that one, it would have given a nice dump. As to the T-bird I deleted whatever entire I could find in the Registry that pertained to FaD & Think, so that all gone, I still got a annoying error on it asking about something with Think loader at the start-up, but its more of a annoyance than something to really worry about, as they're just gonna use it for chatting online & gaming, & the error is only at start-up. Shoot I forgot to give them the disks with Win98 & GF Ti4200 drivers & stuff on it, Oh well, I can give it to them when they pay me on monday!!!

AFAIK, you won't be able to transfer unfinished (partial) jobs from one machine to another. you could reset the job and start it anew from a different machine than the original, but that's probably not what you had hoped for.

As far as I know, if you do a fresh install, then once it is running, stop it, delete all contents in the FaD folder, then copy the contents of the jump drive into the FaD folder, then restart winderz, it should continue where it left off. You may need to make sure the computer name is changed or the same name as the other computer though...

I have done this with a computer that was named the same after a re-install, but I don't know how to get it working if the computer name is different.

I was playing around with different Linux distros two weeks ago. I had enough sense to mount the second drive as /home. Anyway, there were some times when the computer name was different between installs. I was able to continue jobs by killing the client, putting the job on hold, deallocating the job, and allocating the jobs to the current name. I'm guessing a similar procedure works for Windows.

Now you come to mention it BitSpit, that is exactly how it works. I just tried it in a server queue - same principle.

Obviously, once that job is complete, the next job is automatically allocated with whatever name the .tlg file is called..

The .tlg file will be named as the old computer though, so that may need to be changed to the new computers name.

In Windows I think you need to edit node.txt in the FaD folder to the name of the new comp. The job will prob need re-allocating to the new PC too, but the comp name doesn't need changing to match the TBirds name that way.

OK, I already have FaD installed on main rig in Drive C: & runninga big job right now, So don't want to mess with that, but I copied & installed FaD to the Find-a-Drug folder on my 2nd HD Drive F:, It asked if I wanted to run it (Job Queue Server) only on the original computer or on this one or as a network Client, I chose this one, & that was the end of it, but 2nd copy of FaD isn't running? was I supposed to install it into the copy I already have running?
