Yesterday, I posted here (http://www.xtremepccentral.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=129177#post129177) that we might have a possible white Christmas here where I live. I think that it may come true.

Here are some shots taken around 3:30 pm. It's had been snowing for about 6 hours, but like you see in the pics about 3 hours, with 13 hours left to go, according to the latest weather update. So far it looks like we've gotten around 4-5 inches (recently checking) - the pics are an hour and half old.

These are large pics so they may take some time to view.

There is an apparent danger of a white Christmas in the London area, too! That hasn't happened for a few years now!!

I'm sooo glad I'm not working it this year!

Yep I here that they already started closing up the business's and store's . Reminds me of here in Maryland.
They talk about snow and there's a run on milk, toilet paper, bread and beer.........:bunny:
O My God, We Are All Going To DIE.......!

Sounds about right - anytime anyone hears about any "possible" bad weather, all the stores sell out. 9 times out of 10, its just good business. But 1 out of 10 - its warranted. :D

We have Radio 5 Live on in the background, they've just been talking to a truck driver, he's been in the same traffic jam for nearly 14 hours now, he had just pulled over to sleep for a while! ( Tachograph rules, and all that! )

As much as I like snow, I don't want it now as my daughter has to travel 14hrs in a car to Ohio the day after Christmas, where they have just over a foot of snow right now and still coming down.

Yeah We got snow & Ice a few days ago, Monday was supposed to be the best day (as far as weather goes) of teh week, I think the high was like 5 or 10 above zero, yesterdays high was zero, todays was like -2, SUCKS!!! But at least todays wind chill wasn't as bad, Monday or was it tuesdays was like -12 or -14 or so. But monday started off as just a light amount of sleet out here, then later on turned to some light rain & some flurries, then later at night a nice dusting of snow, & continued a bit into tuesday, so its not too bad... YET!!!

I'm jealous... a white christmas... it's something i hope for every year, but only like every 5 years it comes true, well not a white christmas, i think i only had 1 white christmas in my life, and we had like 4 times real snow.

We often only get a little bit which melts later on in the day.

I remember as a kid growing up that the Winters would always be cold and plenty of snow, and the summers would be hot with plenty of erm, sun.

Now a days, it's just mild all year round, can't remember the last time we had snow in this part of the UK, come to think of it, I can't remember the last time we had more than 3 days of sun on the trot either :(

I guess the whole weather cycle is changing...

Well, its 4 in the morning and the snow has stopped. I had previously cleaned off the steps and all, and it looks like we got another few inches on top of that. In some areas it looks like we have around 6-8 inches and others it looks like we only got around 4-5 inches, but we had some gusty wind last night too. Weather.com says we got the equivilent of 1 inch of rain.

The funny thing is that every year we wanted this to happen and it didn't and the one time we didn't even think about it - it happened. The way the temperature is, not going to get above freezing until Sunday, and the fact that most of the time we still have snow even above freezing (sometimes in the shade when the temp is 50 degrees) the snow will probably stay.

snow, I cannot believe you people want snow. It started snowing here about two weeks ago, at the least, and it won't stop. We have about 2 feet of the white slop so far, (a guess.) Had to plow the drive way a few times and shovel, shovel, shovel. Who would want this crap. The temp has been - 0(f) every night this week. Poor draboo had to work outside it the stuff and I have had to do a bit out in it at work my self.

At least the crime rate is low here and the polution is low also. It is nice country anyother season but this one. The older I get the more the snow bothers me. Only 5 more winters to go and we are out of here, Snowbirds all the way.

Our deal in Arkansas, is, we never get snow - it usually "flakes" a couple times a year, so this is a rarity. The last time we had something like this was a few years ago with a major ice storm at the end of November.

December 24th, and 90% of the snow remains, so, unless something drastic happens, most Arkansans will have a white Christmas.

The odds of it snowing at all during the year are around 1/100, the odds of having a white Christmas? 1/1000.

I like snow, not necessarily the below freezing temperatures, but nothing above 72 either. :D 73 degrees is too warm for me (summertime) - where 75-80 is usually the low on a good night.
