stress stress stress, a rant

I sent slides off to have duplicates made and kodak sent back pictures, so they got sent back to be redone and another two weeks late rI still don't have them, they got sent to Maryland for some reason and had to be sent back to Houston and I'm told I might get them back next week, they have to be sent out for grad school apps (recieved ) by the first of Jan!!! I got ripped up at my "Interim Critique", (the all staff crit that's before your show) and now I have no idea where I'm goign or if it's the right direction becaus eI have all these stupid questions in my head!! So I just sit and stare at the canvas and wonder if I've really taken two steps ahead (like I thought) or have I gone two steps behind? My job sucks, the people in charge of me are telling me the computer software we use isn't able to process information at the moment it's given, even though it's given commands, and the processor is working after a command, they say it has to ponder it?? And Christmas really sucks!!!!!!! With all the "cliche" movies about how commercialism is ruining Christmas, everyone nods their heads that they know and then run to Target and push and shove and ***** so they can get that thrill of spending money they don't have. In short :eek: :stress: :argue: :confused: :confused: oh, and I need more of this too :fordbikin

I feel your pain!!! Our ETL is in charge of the logistics team (backroom & Flow team) at work, but she thinks Illogically most of the time, usually going with what ever Idea she has that she plcuked out of her fat a**. Then the whole team is put in a bind when her ideas backfire or don't work as efficiently as she thought, you give her suggestions but no, they aren't good enough. It pisses me off, because she's worked for Target for 10-15 years, but thats it, no other places, so she's a Life-er, where as I've had a bit more variety, I worked for Wal-mart for a year (on salefloor in electronics & as a Cashier), in high school, Ive worked at our local Grocery store for teh past 8.5 years (cashiering & Produce/Stock), & now Target for 2 years now, so in total Ive been in retail almost as much as her, but have had the opprutunity to experience a bit more variety in retail than her & as a result be a bit more knowledgeable about what will work & what won't, but she acts like I don't know what I'm talking about & claims she'll listen to any suggestions I have to help the team, but when I do give her suggestions its in one ear & out the other, yet the first week she took over managing our team (she & our former manager swapped positions, there equal but its corporates way of training both in, in the different aspects of teh store, so they can eventually manage a entire store in their futrue), she asked me to PLEASE help her with getting teh hang of things & get teh team working together, well I'm sorry but if you want me to be doing all these management/supervisory things & help you manage the team.... One you need to be paying me more than the Piss a** starting wage, 2nd, you need to give me a better position, like supervisor, etc or even give me the Level 3 Team Lead position (Supervisor) for the flowteam that I originally applied for a year before but was passed up for a guy with far less retail & employee relations experience than me, then when he moved on, give the position to the guy who's got it now & only worked for the company for less than 6 months.


WHOOPS!!! Looks like I went on ranting too, Sao, see what I mean!!!! :D

I like quite a few of my fellow team members, & the benefits are okay, but the pay just isn't there & the BS I have to put up with... the mismanagement of the store, the procrastinating of getting stuff done, then have all the management run around like chickens with their heads cut off, harping on us about this & that because its possible some one from corporate may stop by, in otherwords sweep it all under the carpet till tehy leave then jsut let everything slide. The disrespect & lack of confidence in their team members (even though they claim they show so much respect, yeah a little peice of paper saying oh thank you for helping with this or that, everytime you do something really means a lot, that you can collect & get free Target merchandise, whoopidee Doo, whatever), & some fo the just plain Petty complaining from management (Oh you can't be talking with each other while working, or "Less talk, More Work", yet its perfectly okay for all of them to work in one small area of teh store & BS while the rest of teh employess are being un supervised elsewhere in teh store).

These & many otehr reasons Is why I'm looking for a new job to replace this one. One word of advice for anyone out there taht gets annoyed by stuff liek this, NEVER APPLY AT TARGET!!! Seriously from what I understand its like this throughout the corporation, there are a few rare managers & personel that are not like that, Ive only met a half dozen or so, but a majority of them are, IMHO!!!!

This is also teh reason I changed my hours of availability to MWF's instead of jsut when ever & whatever hours as long as I'm done by 1PM. But No, what do they do, disregard your ours of availability & schedule you for what ever days they geta truck in, if you don't show its counted as a no show & after 3 your done, even if the F'd up on teh scheduling or ignored your hours you can work. I tell my manager I can't work this day or that as I'm already working my other job, & she just gives me this "I'm dissappointed in you" kind of look, well sorry, as one of teh managers that works there always says sarcastically, "Too Bad, So Sad".

I guess it must be corporate wide. Corporations, the mediocre mans wet dream, they get ahead because they have no head, or they give head, either way, these people aren't hired because they can think, they follow orders, and do exactly what they are told, and never question, exactly what corporate America wants.

The LOD that took my LRT said it caused errors with the comp, and when I told her it didn't she said Jerry (backroom LOD) is a LOGISTICS EXPERT! I wanted to say "really, define logistics, 10 bucks says you can''t do it. She's a bumbling twit, the fact that this woman has gotten ahead in the world makes me want to go blow my brains out.

But I'm with you on finding a new job, With the pathetic wage I started at, then to get told to supervise myself, hey no prob, and I'll do the work to, hey I need the extra cash, but leave me the hell alone for cripes sake!!
